Letting Painful Memories Go

Sometimes we can't let go of hurtful memories that easily. They hold on to us as if we are their long lost and now revived out of the blue love. We dream about people we used to meet and things we used to experience – the ones that resulted in things that didn't work or worked wrong and now memories of those events keep chasing us and are too reluctant to let go.
Those can be memories of our failed romance, our failed career or our anything which brought so many crashed hopes and fresh and new regrets. Those things were so strong and so disappointing that the memory of them doesn't let go of our hand even now that we seemed to have crossed the whole issue out from the book of our life.
As a rule, these memories are extremely difficult to let go due to their tenaciousness the character of which is described above. However, if we take great effort to do it and pull ourselves together physically and spiritually, then certainly we will make sure in practice that nothing is impossible.
The best way to let your painful memories go is to start realizing finally that the past has long gone and will never come back, that living in one's memories will lead a person nowhere, on the contrary, it invariably suggests a dead-end regarding a persons' future.
The next step on your way of getting rid of painful memories implies your new life while the idea of your new life where you live today and occasionally think about your future suggests making new memories – memories of bright, happy instants, surrounded by new people and new events without any steps back to the past at all.
