Memories about Motherland

The word Motherland may sound too loud and patriotic when we live in the country where we were born continuously and aren't planning to emigrate. We aren't satisfied with politics and their decisions i.e. we are not quite pleased with the general situation in the country due to unfair treatment of the state.
However, we start especially and acutely feeling our attitude to our native country when we leave it for good for this or that reason. At first we think that new country, new life in new society may save us from a certain soul-search we've made up for ourselves as an excuse to justify our negative point regarding our native country.
In any case, no matter how harsh things or people or events in our native country may treat us, we invariably start reminiscing about it when we find ourselves in another country where neither people nor surrounding events are close to heart, where everything seems alien and strange, even the language.
Certainly, nostalgia over one's Motherland is felt especially keenly at first stages of living in another country, it may sort of fall asleep in future, especially if you settle down in a new country successfully. However, good memories of your native country will always stay no matter where you are because they are your childhood memories, they are your first-smile-steps-kiss-love memories, because they are your memories of your good friends and places you loved to visit, places where you will always feel like home.
